Add Briefcase/Document/Webdisk Storage to Webmail
Having a document storage area in Webmail is a crucial missing piece that other competitor products have already.
- It allows people to drag files from their desktop and take with them (such as a Powerpoint presentation) when they are going to a meeting, or going away and want to take a file with you to work on.
- You should be able to share these documents with colleagues, so you can truly collaborate on a file together, checking in and checking out documents and creating new versions. Permissions should be per file, or through a folder level within the "webdisk"
- The files would count towards the disk quota of the "owner" of that file.
- It would be helpful to also be able to share this outside of your company with a link.
- It should also be accessible with WebDAV.

Why not integrating with an S3 API? we offer both an e-mail service based on Axigen and an object storage service based on Ceph and has an S3 API and both authenticate through LDAP. This would basically allow users to save attachments directly from the webmail interface into the users's storage.

As there is no Nextcloud-Integration available right now in Axigen, I am trying to install nextcloud on the same machine like axigen.
I tried placing the nextcloud files in a subfolder e.g. /var/opt/axigen/webmail/default/nextcloud or /var/opt/axigen/webmail/nextcloud
but I get "The requested url was not found on this server."
Can you tell me where I have to put the nextcloud Folder so that I can reach it under the axigen-url
myserver.tld/nextcloud and the same port (443).Beste regards,

Is this integration locked into NextCloud or would this work with any webdav compliant cloud (including NextCloud, OwnCloud, SeaFile etc.).
We use Seafile rather than NextCloud due to Seafile's better version history management (its storage engine is based on a git-based version engine which also does deduplication rather than the NextCloud\OwnCloud approach of just storing historical copies in a hidden directory).

This? Seriously? You are prioritizing THIS instead of quite a few BASIC email functionality issues that need addressing? Yes, I agree that this is a very cool feature and would benefit many users. But lets get the basics down first 'eh? Practically every idea below this one is INFINITELY more important to get done before this.
This is why the upvote system does not work. People think something is COOL and they vote for it. Vote should be cleared out and separated into WANT and NEED votes adn started over from 0.

I suggest that you look into a partnership with seafile.com for file sharing\storage.
This is an alternative to owncloud\nextcloud for document sharing with some unique features such as integrated versioning (based on git).
An integrated solution including axigen and seafile would be welcome.

It would be a very useful feature, especially for supporting a "smart attachments" (URL links to files instead of attaching them to messages), and I guess that Axigen is now actually a WebDAV server too (CalDAV and CardDAV are based on it). But I think that a huge amount of work is needed to implement file sharing in a user-friendly and effective way... it's hard to meet all users' expectations in this field.
I believe a more smart solution is to integrate Axigen's webmail with some existing file sync&sharing solution, like Nextcloud, by leveraging its API. It would be a huge step towards other groupware's competition, at a somewhat low development expense.
