  2. Read only, snapshot like FUSE mount

hello, I'd like to able to mount the FUSE based Axigen virtual filesystem in a readonly manner - like a very limited "snapshot". Right now the backup softwares like BareOS, BackupPC or Bacula complain about files changed between mount and end of backup session. I'd like to see something implemented like ESFS fuse implementation. You can find it here: https://github.com/csirmaz/ESFS . Of course it must not be the same but a similar method is preferable because of file based backup solutions. And it sohuld be an option not the default behaviour.

  3. Set default locations for storage

The ability to set the default location for Message/Domain/Object storage.

We want to have message on HDD storage, and Domain/Object on SSD.
However having to change every single domain that is added is tedious, and I'd imagine anyone wanting to separate the locations of their storage would want to do it for all accounts, not just some.

As such It would be good if we could set the server to always place Object storage in X and Message storage in Z. Then all new accounts created would follow this methodology.

  5. Add Briefcase/Document/Webdisk Storage to Webmail

Having a document storage area in Webmail is a crucial missing piece that other competitor products have already.

    • It allows people to drag files from their desktop and take with them (such as a Powerpoint presentation) when they are going to a meeting, or going away and want to take a file with you to work on.
    • You should be able to share these documents with colleagues, so you can truly collaborate on a file together, checking in and checking out documents and creating new versions. Permissions should be per file, or through a folder level within the "webdisk"
    • The…

  6. Update logging options by auto-zipping older entries

Auto zipping older entries helps save tremendous amounts of space and allows saving of a lot more older data.

  7. Cluster like Exchange DAG

You could implement Cluster like Exchange DAG does. In this way no more shared LUN is necessary and it even easy to cluster Axigen Server across multiple ESXi or Hyper-V.
This can bring a very nice feature to Axigen that no other Email product has (apart Exchange).
    Think about!

  10. Nice, but keep away from re-inventing the wheel

    Nice idea.

First steps are done, but there is much more. In order to have a good solution, the next requests would be:

    1. You need a desktop client / sync client for all platforms
    2. After that a mobile client for all platforms
    3. After that you need encryption on client and server side
    4. You need a way to send a link to a file (by this external access for outside users) instead of attachment (like OneDrive does).
    5. Have Multi-Factor Authentication

What I want to say is that there are many well known solutions out there we shouldn't try to copy.
    Maybe…

  11. Desktop access

Good stuff, I would suggest that desktop access to files was enabled via an app similar to dropbox/googledrive because mapping drives via explorer is problematic and will cause slowdowns and show warnings at boot-up/login if explorer cannot remount the drive right away.

We’re currently looking at some WebDAV clients for Windows, OS X, Android & iOS. If you have any recommendations in this direction — vendors that we could even partner with, that would be greatly appreciated.

  12. Limiting

I would like to see some limitations on the sharing URL. If I've missed something in preview then just skip this part.

    1. Authentication a/ share with domain users -> ability to pickup who can download the file based on the user in domain. User must provide credentials.

b/ ability to set the password/code for the download. So for the external user must provide code for the download to work

So the share can be just URL, URL+code or URL + domain user authentication

    1. limiting a/ possibility to set time of share. After this time the files is not shared anymore…

  13. Nice, but can we control the port separately from webmail used to access the files?

Would like to know how ports for file sharing separately from webmail?

Files (WebDAV) will be running over the webmail service, so it will have the same port. Same happens currently with CardDAV, which can be accessed at [webmail address](:webmail port)/Contacts.

What would be the need behind controlling the port? What would you want to achieve?

  14. Moving in the right direction

    Moving in the right direction
Needs to keep the files safe and away from intruders so a strong authentication is needed. Stay away from mapping or sharing drives from the users it will become a cumbersome application and harder to manage.
